To function properly, our body needs small amounts of some of them – heavy metals such as copper, zinc, aluminium and others – but even these can be dangerous when taken in larger amounts than needed. Some metals, however, such as arsenic, cadmium, lead and mercury, have no proven benefits for the human body, and their accumulation over the years can lead to serious diseases. The accumulation of heavy metals leads to faulty metabolism, which in turn leads to intoxication of the body.

Arsenic is very often used in industry, which is why it is present in almost every biological and ecological system. Once ingested, it spreads to the liver, kidneys, lungs, spleen, skin and nails.

Lead is one of the most toxic elements on Earth. The most common source of toxic lead is drinking water. There is evidence that exposure to lead can cause fatigue, irritability, memory problems, slowed reactions, loss of concentration, cardiovascular problems, kidney problems, abdominal pain, cramps, constipation, anorexia, weight loss and liver problems.

Mercury occurs in two forms – organic and inorganic. Inorganic mercury is found in thermometers, barometers, batteries, switches and cables, some dental fillings, fluorescent bulbs, antiseptic creams, medicines and other ointments. Organic mercury is found in seafood and is also common in livestock products, processed grains and dairy products. Heavy metals, and mercury in particular, are neurotoxic and can lead to intoxication, according to specialists who deal with these conditions. One specific cause is the mercury in vaccines given to children aged 0–6 months, contained as thimerosal and aluminium formaldehyde. This may lead to autistic symptoms, attributed to mercury with the reinforcing (synergistic) action of aluminium. Aluminium enters the body more easily through vegetables, canned and processed foods, products wrapped in aluminium foil and cooking in aluminium pans.

The earlier such a condition is caught, the more likely it is that normal values will be restored. Detoxification should start with the liver and the normalisation of the gut flora through antiparasitic programmes. The whole cleansing process takes about 6 months to 1 year.

From the Transmed Holistic Center team

Какво
